February 12th, 2009

A survey of photographs by Andres Serrano is the current show at Yvon Lambert in London. The title of the exhibit refers to the novel of the same name by Milan Kundera penned in 1984.

Andres Serrano - The Morgue (Death Unknown) - 1992

A wide array of work is on hand at the gallery including select pieces from some of Serrano’s most notable series work over the past two decades.

Andres Serrano - America (Chloé Sévigny) - 2004

Andres Serrano is well known for his use of abject content and depictions of taboo. He shows us what we’d like not to see and transforms it into something sacred.

Special thanks to Yvon Lambert and Andres Serrano for their assistance with this post.
