LOOK INTO MY OWL

Escaping the cold has become a yearly adventure for us. The first stop on our semi-tropical late November adventure is always Art Miami. The fair never ceases to delight. The staff are courteous and the showroom is immaculate. The international flair of the event is palpable and the excitement of the viewers is always a joy to experience. As I arrived in Miami Beach for this year’s Art Basel, I was still recovering from some unexpected hostilities encountered during our stay up North. It was all I could do to raise my camera and try to bring back some evidence of the fair. I am happy to report that the art overload, along with some caring folks down here in the Southeast have begun to break the negative spell and move me toward lush pastures.

Art Basel Miami Beach has become an annual necessity here at L.I.M.O. and you can expect much better coverage next year. In the meantime, I hope that you can enjoy the few photographs that managed to make it through the heavy haze.

This past weekend, Ron English opened the bar to a few hundred of his closest friends at his temporary space, “Status Factory” in NYC. The swanky 5,000 square foot space in SoHo is filled with two and three dimensional works illustrating Ron’s personal “Popaganda.” The show runs through the end of October, so if you have the time, stop in and get overwhelmed.
