Awhile back i saw a documentary about him, simply called “Lynch.” (Highly recommend it!) I think it was in this doc that he said something that stuck in my head. It was to the effect of how difficult it is to be creative if you are in even the slightest amount of pain. I never really thought about that before, but he may be onto something there. In any case, i like the idea of dispelling the myth that artists must be anguished in some way to make good work.
Also, as i “tweeted” yesterday, it’s great that he’s so excited about cardboard!

i find the burned pine cone painting so charming. i like the lights within it also. it almost looks like he used a wood-burning tool to carve the letters. i really enjoyed this post, thank you!
